This really is the first opportunity I have had to sit down and write in this blog since November.

Today I worked on the website some more and am quite happy with the progess which is being made.

I just spent several weeks in Europe followed by a three week cruise from Los Angeles to Tahiti.

These are not pleasure trips, for me, so you can only imagine how deeply tired I am.

I run on only three to five hours of sleep on these amazing excursions.

I am always the last to bed, making sure everyone else is in before going to bed, myself.  And I am always the first one up.  On cruises I am typically on front deck at dawn.  So, as one can imagine this takes a real toll on you after awhile.  It ends up being a stamina contest, as much as anything.

I expect to be back on the road just as soon as possible to finish the work which I started in Europe.  Maybe, finally, after that I can get a real break and a much needed extended vacation.

In the meantime I am just trying to keep focused on composing as much as possible while I am in my studio for several weeks at a time.

I try to post the latest pieces just as quickly as I am able.

You can see with the latest two sets that there was a several week break between December 16, 2011 and January 7, 2012.

That is a result of my being out of town.

I am working on the final mixes of some of the classical pieces which I have already recorded.

I am also seeking permission to post my unabridged reading of the George Orwell clasic ANIMAL FARM, and have Alice's Adventures in Wonderland on my desk as I have been doing test reading of the first several chapters.

Always more work on audio engineering and sound synthesis in general.  That just simply never ends.  This year my focus is on final mixes and mastering.
It is the last step before duplicating and distributing.  And an extremely important one, I should say.

Only recently has it become feasible to do very high quality mastering of recordings in a home studio.

As you can probably imagine, I am watching these developments with the greatest of interest.

Hopefully I will be able to write more later.  But for the time being this will have to do.
